Miss SA, Ntandokayise Kunene speaks about Mpumalanga’s youth challenges

Miss SA, Ntandokayise Kunene, was crowed on Saturday, at the glamours event that was held at the Carnival City in Johannesburg. Ntandokayise who’s also known as Ntando, spoke to the SABC News – and revealed she is planning to tackle issues and challenges of the youth in and around Mpumalanga during her reign as Miss South Africa, and also revealed this will go beyond, she’s honored that this title will give her to voice and she will be heard.

Ntando (23), who’s from Piet Retief, just in south-eastern Mpumalanga – will soon be meeting up with the provincial Government to discuss her projects, and more about how they can help her achieve and succeed in her projects she wants to implement.

The Culture, Sport and Recreation MEC, Norah Mahlangu-Mabena is very proud of Ntando’s achievements, and she is most certain that Ntando will represent South African well.

“We are proud of the achievement of Kunene and we know she is going to represent South Africa very well and make us proud as a province. ” She says, “We are looking forward to working with her to address matters of youth development and challenges faced by our youth in the province.” Says the MEC, Nora. “As the department, we are going to make sure that we sit down with other departments and find a way on how we are going to assist her moving forward to show that we are fully behind her,”

Miss South Africa 2016: Ntandoyenkosi Kunene

Congratulations are in order for the Miss SA 2016 winner Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, whose favorite quote is “Never give in, Tomorrow could be the day that brings just what you need to turn your life around.” indeed Today was her tomorrow and she reigns as the new Miss SA 2016, and she walks away with prizes worth R2m, that includes a car, several international trips and money.


Ntandoyenkosi was born in Mpumalanga, and tonight at Carnival City in Johannesburg, she took a stand and has defeated and won the title against 11 other hopefuls who entered the competition.

The Judges were Sophie Ndaba, Kojo Baffoe, Casper Bosman and Pnina Fenster and unfortunately Basetsana Kumalo was replace due to the little accident she had (read more about it here)


Our first princess goes to Elizabeth Molapo, whereas Taylor-Skye Robinson is our second princess

The 23 year old Ntando (Miss SA), now has access to R200K to spoil herself (Sponsored by Cell C and Sun International), Varsity College has awarded Miss SA with R240K for her to award it to a student who deserves it most, and a whole lot more.

Ntandoyenkosi Kunene is our Miss SA 2016. She takes home a car, money and tickets for her holiday trips. She became tops of all the 11 hopefuls. She was the last ‘man’ standing.

Ntando (23), born in Mpumalanga – shines her crown tonight as she’s been named the Miss South Africa 2016. Ntando will be having access to a sum amount of R200K to spoil herself.
