Magic Hlatswayo

Entertainment January 26, 2016

Magic Hlatswayois a South African Actor best known for his role Kunutu Elder on Skeem Saam . IT WAS really a beautiful feeling to be in front of the cameras after such a long break.
These were the words of TV actor and director, Magic Hlatshwayo, for his role in the new e.tv drama series eKasi.
The man, who is popularly known as Madlanduna after his role in the much-loved TV drama Kwakhala Nyonini, feels he is taken seriously today because of that series.
“I feel that I played the character of Madlanduna so well that it left a mark in the minds of people. Wherever I go today people still call me by that name,” he said.
The likeable Hlatshwayo is considered a darling by his neighbours because of his easy-going nature.
He was introduced to his first role in the film Honour Thy Father by Marry Twala and Ndaba Mhlongo.
He said: “Surprisingly, I was given a leading role! I couldn’t believe it. That actually encouraged me to take acting seriously.”
Hlatshwayo is also a health fanatic and goes to gym every day for three hours. Life is treating him well, he is happily married and lives with his family in Diepkloof, Soweto.
But he is concerned about the way culture is neglected in most films.
“If we keep on sidelining our culture, we’ll end up not knowing who we are. That hurts me a lot. It will affect our kids negatively,” explained Hlatshwayo.
Magic’s skills have earned him a job as the director of the long-running TV drama Muvhango for the next five years.
