Mandoza battles cancer

The Kwaito Star Mduduzi Edmund Tshabalala known as Mandoza died 38 on the 18th of September 2016 in the Afternoon – His family confirmed he was being treated for pharyngeal cancer (a cancer that starts in the lip, oral cavity (mouth),nasal cavity (inside the nose), paranasal sinuses,pharynx, larynx or parotid glands.) prior to his death. Mandoza has been battling cancer for months and month since he was diagnosed. Mandoza was known for hit songs like NkalakathaGodoba and Sgelekeqe.

Mandoza has also collaborated with the RNB Singer Danny K. He started his career with Chiskop, a kwaito group which his started with his childhood friends (S’bu, Siphiwe aka General and Sizwe)

Born in 1978, in Soweto (Zola). A place that he was living with his mother, his grandparents and 2 (two) Sisters. His mother told him, his father was murdered the same year that Mandoza was born, and thus he never knew his father.

Mandoza was arrested when he was 16 (Sixteen) years old, for car theft and was sentenced to 1 (one) and a 1/2 (half) year of which he served in Diepkloof prison.

He was discovered by Arthur Mafokate (The King of Kwaito) – He started his Solo Career and released the top selling Album (9II5 Zola South) in 1999, which sold him more than 100K units and recieved a 2000 FNB South African Music Awards Best Newcomer nomination and also a 2006 Channel O Musical Video Awards – Best Collaboration Video (“Music“) (with Danny K)
