With so many blackberry users across the world – unfortunately that now Whatsapp is owned by Facebook, a lot of changes have been anticipated – however this was unexpected when it has been decided that WHATSAPP will end support for BlackBerry devices by the end the year.

WHATSAP recently celebrated it’s 7th birthday and swept a few more device.

Unfortunately for blackberry (ALL BLACKBERRY DEVICES, INCLUDING BLACKBERRY 10 get axed) some of the devices mentioned that will also no longer support blackberry were:

  • Nokia S40,
  • Nokia Symbian S60,
  • Android 2.1 and 2.2,
  • Windows Phone 7.1

All this was posted on the WHATSAPP BLOG – Their reason behind all of this was that “don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future,

This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.”

…and so get this – Whatsapp suggest you to upgrade your device if you want to continue using whatsapp.

IN JUST 10 MONTHS YOU’LL BE OFFLINE YOU ARE USING ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED, AS FOR BLACKBERRY WOOO SHAME!

It just might  be the right time to upgrade.
